Definitely one of the best aurora displays I've ever seen - the second stunner this year. Seeing all the alerts throughout the day, I drove out to a location I'd scoped previously as potentially good for clear north views.

As sunset faded into twilight, the clouds were coming thick in the north, right where I wanted to be looking. Yet somehow, a gap formed and green started to show. First on the ipHone, which led me to start shooting on the Fuji.

Very quickly the display exploded, more than filling the field of view even at 8mm (12mm-e) on my ultrawide lens - pillars and rays stretching up past Polaris even to the zenith.

Just standing in front of it, watching the pale lights by naked eye, was awesome. The camera brought out the saturation.
