Boulders

Boulders
Gentle light with bright dappled patches illuminating boulders covered in moss and lichen. Undergrowth in the Ariundle Oakwood.

The geology of this part of the woods is complicated; superficially covered in glacial deposits (diamicton), the underlying bedrock varies between the granodiorite and biotite of the Strontian pluton and palaeogene microgabbro and basalt dykes.
