Highland Boundary Fault, Kilcreggan Harbour

Highland Boundary Fault, Kilcreggan Harbour
My explorations continued out west to Argyll, tracking the line of the HBF as it runs from Dunoon up through Kilcreggan here to Camsail and Helensburgh to the east.

The line of the fault runs from the centre-bottom of this shot, below the ticket-office on the end of the pier, up and slightly right under the red-roofed warehouse and one of the houses behind it, continuining beside the Kilcreggan burn (surrounded by a line of lighter grey trees leading along the lower slopes of Gallow Hill).

You can't beat Argyll on a sunny spring day - surprisingly warm, especially with the sun out - but the landscape is particularly rich in blues and greens at the best of times.
