Loch Eilt
Separating the districts of Morar (north) and Moidart (south), the freshwater Loch Eilt is to be found between the villages of Glenfinnan and Lochailort. The A830 (Rathad nan Eilean) runs along the north shore, while the West Highland Line railway follows the south shore.
This was taken after a particularly pleasant trip out west to beyond Arisaig; on return, the water was beautifully calm and still with a near-perfect reflection of the island in the middle, cloudy overcast sky affording barely the subtlest variation in light on the green mountains and trees around.
