Loch Tarff

Loch Tarff
One of my favourite beautiful parts of the landscape - for years I've found Loch Tarff an idyllic setting, enjoying the overview whilst descening the B-road from the north-east.

From front to back, Carn Leitir an Lochain on the right, dappled cloud shadows on Carn a t-Suidhe on the left and Gleann nan Eun hiding behind the treeline in the middle.

All the bedrock here is the Tarff Banded Formation - semipelite and micaceous psammite formed between 1000 and 541 million years ago.
