One of Five
Noted in _Heritage Trees of Scotland_ (ISBN: 0904853063), this monster of a beech tree is one of only five in the UK known to exhibit layering - where branches drop to the earth and take root, forming new trees in a concentric pattern.
I've made photos of this tree before, sometimes from this exact same spot on the branches, but never tried light-painting it from below in the dead of winter at night before. Let's just say I was glad to have parked the car facing outwards... :)
