Pile of Rubble: Polmaise Castle 4

Pile of Rubble: Polmaise Castle 4
Situated in the village of Cambusbarron and built in 1865, Polmaise Castle only lasted a century before being blown up by the army due to its state of disrepair.

The surrounding woodland is being restored as the former gardens of the house.
The sole remains of the property are a large pile of rubble maybe 50m long in a clearing - occasional glimpses of angular stone blocks and roof beams sticking out at rakish angles.
