Rattray Head Lighthouse
A very well-known location on the Aberdeenshire coast: the light-house, over 30m tall, just out to sea off the headland at Rattray Head.
I arrived late, as the colours of sunset were fading; by the time I'd got tripod ready, all hints of warm colours were gone from the sky beyond. However, wait a little longer still and dusk made for cool blue background against which to offset the colours of the light itself.
The wind was blowing fast with gusts over 30mph, with choppy waves making for interesting texture in the long exposures. Also, that sand gets everywhere!
